Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee editorial across all company communications
- Develop an engaging and unique human-centered brand voice that is inspirational, empowering and approachable
- Develop company editorial guidelines and processes to ensure a voice remains consistent across our channels, platforms, and teams
- Oversee content strategy and execution across owned and operated channels (blog, newsletter, social)
- Plan, interview, write, and edit key company communications including, but not limited to, newsletters, thought-leadership pieces, blogs, and whitepapers
- Build a roster of in-house freelance writers and content creators
- Implement editorial workflows to manage content contributions from both internal and external stakeholders
- Define Groundswell’s editorial P.O.V. which sits at the nexus of charitable giving, corporate philanthropy, nonprofit impact, fintech, and investing
- Proofread and fact-check materials for colleagues and provide quality control
- Work with outside marketing and PR partners to ensure Groundswell’s editorial voice and style carries through to external communications
- Draft product editorial / educational materials in collaboration with Product Marketing
- Develop content calendars in partnership with the Director of Marketing and maintain deadlines using the company project management tools
Requirements
- 4 years of editorial experience in journalism or content marketing; experience at a media company a plus
- Experience writing within the technology, finance, or nonprofit sectors is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing a team of staff writers or freelancers.
- Excellent written and verbal skills; successful at translating complex and technical concepts into accessible content.
- Cross-functional project management experience with multiple stakeholders across several departments. Experience working with project management tools like Asana.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization is a must.
- Has a desire to make the world a better place and is eager to use their unique writing skills to accomplish that.
- Team player willing to roll up their sleeves, show flexibility, and shift gears quickly.
- Proven background as an Editorial Editor and generating engaging content.
