Our client needs a consultant to perform the role of Infrastructure Project Manager.
The consultant will be responsible for managing infrastructure/data center projects which focus primarily on implementing various solutions developed by the Infrastructure Delivery Team, The majority of these projects will focus on cloud implementation and migration efforts.
The consultant will work in a PMO type of organization. The consultant will be assigned to a specific project team and oversee projects from start to finish.
This role is currently funded for 12 months and there is a strong likelihood that the contract will be extended. The consultant will work onsite at a location in either the Philadelphia PA area, Boca Raton FL, the greater Chicago IL region or Raleigh NC region.
This role will allow the consultant to travel up to 25% of the time (approximately one week/month) in the continental U.S.
Responsibilities:
- The consultant will be assigned to a project team and will be responsible for working with infrastructure delivery managers & colleagues from IT to ensure that project schedules are adhered to and all parties are on the same page regarding progress.
- The consultant will establish project plans and milestones and fulfill infrastructure requirements. and work within the Infrastructure functions to provide solutions from beginning to end.
- The consultant will help create and document best practice playbooks that other infrastructure project managers can follow
- Maintain team project status reports and update relevant portals.
- Interaction at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations, workshop facilitation and delivery, and other non-traditional forms of communication – able to frame the problem.
- Seek and identify improvement opportunities within the Infrastructure Delivery organization.
- The consultant will work on infrastructure projects which are taking place across the U.S. There will be times that the consultant will need to travel to locations including Il, FL, NC, and PA.
Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; education preferably concentrated in IT, Engineering, Business or Science.
- 7 years of experience working as a functional infrastructure project manager
- Experience working in a Pharma and or medical research environment within the past 30 months (2.5 years)
- Maintain a working knowledge of current cloud and infrastructure technologies and best practices related to the infrastructure area.
- Ability to manage several concurrent projects and prioritize demands.
- Ability and experience managing multiple smaller projects within one large program.
- Experience working within a global, matrix organization.
- Ability and desire to travel to other US locations 25% of the time.
Desired
- ITIL Certification
- F unctional knowledge of cGMPs and manufacturing operations in FDA regulated facility; pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience preferred
- Certifications in areas including Cloud, Networking, Project Management, VMware, Cyber Security, and other technical areas.
