We’re now hiring for a Full-time Wardrobe and Costume Shop Assistant at Shadowbox Live in Columbus, OH!

Perks of working as a Wardrobe and Costume Shop Assistant:
- Schedule: Hours may vary from week to week. Tuesday- Friday 9am-6:00pm
Typical day in the life as a Wardrobe and Costume Shop Assistant:
- Assist in the creation, construction, maintenance and/or repair of costumes as assigned by the Lead Costume Designer and/or Costume Shop Manager. These duties include but are not limited to the following:
- General mending and alteration by hand or machine
- Construction of new costumes as instructed by the Lead Costume Designer
- Assist in laundering, sorting and maintaining the established tagging system for returning costumes to the artists as established by the Costume Shop Manager.
- Use an iron and steamer as needed
- Uphold current operational systems put in place by the Costume Shop Manager
- Treat performers with respect during fittings and in the changing areas and be aware of individual performers' privacy.
- Ensure proper shut down of the costume shop
- Execute any additional duties as assigned by the Costume Shop Manager or Lead Costume Designer.
What we are we looking for?
- Possess proficient sewing skills including repair and construction which may include but are not limited to attaching fasteners and installing zippers.
- Possess proficient skills with alterations which may include but are not limited to adding darts and hemming.
- Be able to assist the Lead Costume Designer with fitting and altering costumes for a variety of different body types and in a variety of costume styles
- Accurately report issues to the Costume Shop Manager and Lead Costume Designer
- Display a willingness to learn and a desire to grow
