Type: Long Term contract
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Powerbuilder Developer to join our dynamic team within our enterprise Financial
Services organization. You will be tasked with supporting large-scale projects around our custom-built
applications that service our customers. Candidates with backgrounds around mission-critical
applications and tight SLAs will thrive in our environment. Financial Services experience is a huge plus.
Duties
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them
into technical specifications.
- Design, develop, and maintain Powerbuilder applications, ensuring they meet high-quality
standards, performance, and scalability.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries to interact with databases efficiently.
- Perform unit testing and debugging to identify and resolve software defects.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
- Document software design, development, and maintenance processes for reference and
knowledge sharing.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and end-users as needed.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience (5 years) in Powerbuilder development, with a strong understanding of its
principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in SQL and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server).
- Familiarity with software development methodologies and version control systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of other programming languages and technologies is a plus.
- Experience with Visual Studio, PowerShell, and Team Foundation Server preferred.
