PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Provides leadership to ensure GROWMARK, member cooperatives, subsidiaries, retail divisions, and customers in the U.S. and Canada have clear direction to IT strategy that creates simplicity and productivity for the Agronomy supply chain. Understand and be attuned to the environment in which both GROMWARK and Member Company stakeholders and suppliers are operating.
SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP
Supervises, leads, and develops the Agronomy Portfolio team to help align with strategic business goals and objectives necessary for the entire GROWMARK/FS System.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Works with leadership in Agronomy throughout the GROWMARK/FS System to identify, further drive delivery of technology capabilities and business transformation.
Define, develop and lead strategic technology workshops with IT Leadership and select management at least twice per year.
Ensure partnerships within the GROWMARK/FS System that will help with alignment of current and adoption of potential future releases along the various release roadmap(s) of technology.
Responsible for the marketing, communication, and education of technology and information systems to improve the proliferation of all current IT/IMS software and future development of IT/IMS software throughout the GROWMARK/FS System.
Responsible for coordination with the other managers within IT Portfolio to ensure alignment and coordination within GROWMARK and at the retail level of all technology and software systems.
Works with software and strategic partners to identify, define, and align overall business strategy with future software roadmap including enhancements, upgrades, adoption and/or promotion.
Assists through research with data management and point of sale systems to ensure they are enhanced to provide industry best practices and are user friendly.
Responsible for maintaining and distributing documentation and manuals to users on assigned software application and hardware. In addition assists with the distribution and installation of current version of all assigned applications and ensures that users are provided with the current version of applications.
Assists with the training and support of IMS supported software systems at member cooperatives with users and GROWMARK product and support divisions.
Provide recommendations for purchases as well as assist with the team’s budgeting processing.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists in the evaluation of new software, associated hardware and services to be offered to end users.
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a Bachelor’s Degree in information systems, accounting, or business, or the equivalent thereof, and 6 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate applications working knowledge to provide computer software recommendations and leadership to Agronomy business areas.
Understanding and experience with computer services-related areas including computer system trends and direction, general accounting, and agri-business.
Understanding of GROWMARK customized SAP, Agvance, wEBS, FBS and IoT applications and their interfaces with assigned applications and understanding of software and hardware design and integration.
Ability to provide technical support, resource management, and training to new and existing users.
Proven leadership skills and the ability to achieve results through others.
Demonstrated planning, organization, analytical, diagnostic, problem-solving, and project management skills and the ability to read and interpret technical material.
Proven team building skills and the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Proven computer skills and the ability to use the computer to enhance business processes.
Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight as necessary.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record and passport.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
