PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Under the direction of Energy Department Manager, operate a petroleum truck over established route, sells and delivers products, and manage the account receivables.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Drives truck in a safe manner to deliver petroleum products to customer’s homes, farms, and commercial business.
Maintain concrete relationships with all customers. Develop sales call plans and implement sales calls with prospects and customers to solicit new business and maintain concrete relationships.
Focused on territory growth through excellent customer service and product selling skills to customers and prospects.
Work with sales manager and Growmark regional staff to gain new business throughout your territory.
Have a full understanding of your product line. Informs customers and prospects of new products or services. (Relationship Building)
Sell using value added techniques other than price. Use the sales tools available to you through energy resources.com. Use the Sales Road Map method to gather information in order to create an effect proposal.
Prepares a realistic TSP list on an annual basis.
Completes accurate load-out manifest paperwork and reports accurate daily inventories. Manifest should include everything that is loaded onto the truck (Fuel Lube Oil Etc.). One copy of your manifest will be left at the plant office before leaving. Prepares order tickets, sales contract and completes accurate daily sales reports.
Follow the pricing set by management to assure department profitability in your territory
Handles complaints promptly.
Maintains the truck according to company standards and performs routine maintenance on the truck. Operate and maintain the company truck in a way that satisfies the Federal and State DOT regulations.
Work with sales marketing events to build concrete relationships with your customers (Fairs, Appreciation Days, Parades, Ag Breakfast, and Farm Bureau Activities etc.).
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Collects past due accounts from customers and records transactions on customer sales.
Adheres to the uniform policy and maintains the appropriate professional image.
Acquire and maintain an EMS Certified Sales Status
Performs other duties as assigned.
Follow all compliance practices set by our Chief Compliance Officer.
Functional Skills
Full understanding of our flagship energy products and their energy sales tools.
Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
The ability to work hour beyond considered NORMAL.
Proven professional communication, persuasion, presentation, and customer service skills.
Demonstrated planning, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated math skills and the ability to calculate sales tickets.
Communication skills are a must.
The ideal candidate will possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to operate a petroleum truck over established route, deliver, and sell products. Candidate must have CDL, with training provided to acquire additional endorsements if necessary.
Full product sales training provided under the direction of the Energy Sales Manager. Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively & efficiently in a team atmosphere.
