Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager Your Job Duties
You will oversee the accounts receivables (AR) team, with the goal of expedient billing and cash collections.
- Oversee and review 3-4 direct reports in accounts receivables (AR) review their work, approve time off requests, conduct bi-weekly check-ins to support their growth and mentoring, provide ongoing support to assist the team with accomplishing their job duties, review of their work
- Serve as escalation point for complex accounts receivable (AR) matters, assisting the team
- Frequent review of the AR aging report, identifying invoices that require follow up calls, and directing and guiding the team with collection efforts
- Attend the billing meeting with the AR team and the project managers, overseeing billing. (You might also identify process improvements and implement them.)
This role is largely a supervisory role to oversee the decentralized AR team, with some hands-on tasks.
You will report to the Director of Accounting.
Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager - Requirements
- You enjoy leading a team, supervising, mentoring, inspiring and ensuring accountability
- You are a driver of initiatives and enjoy project management, follow up and ensuring projects are completed timely
- You bring a service mindset and remove obstacles to success for your team
- Experience with full cycle accounts receivable (AR) duties you understand the cycle from invoicing through collections
- You are not shy about collections and jumping on the phone to make a collection call
- You are a problem solver when an obstacle presents itself, you problem solve potential solutions
- You have intermediate MS Excel / smart sheets experience comfortable navigating multi-tab spreadsheets and formulas
Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager - Extras (Desired, Not Required)
- Experience working in an accounting department in the subcontractor, engineering, public works, utilities, underground or construction industry
- Experience with the Vista Viewpoint software platform
This is a hybrid role, 3 days a week in office in the Sacramento office. You will travel to the Concord office location 2x per month.
