This position is responsible for the preparation and timely filing of federal, state and local income / franchise tax returns, quarterly estimates, annual extensions, and assistance with the preparation of the Company’s annual tax provision calculations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare federal and state income/franchise tax filings and support workpapers for the Company’s federal and multistate jurisdictions, using OneSource Tax software.
- Ability to research, analyze, and document jurisdictional taxation requirements and the Company’s filing positions across various federal and state levels.
- Prepare calculations and filings of estimated income tax payments and other tax payments due with required filings using OneSource Tax software.
- Assist with the preparation of tax audit responses. Research accounting records, tax materials, and liaison with various disciplines within the Corporate office as well as with those in the field.
- Assist in preparing the Company’s tax provision using OneSource software. Develop and maintain support for tax accounting purposes under IFRS reporting standards.
- Maintain tax fixed asset systems for federal and state tax filing requirements. Familiarity with Sage Fixed Asset System is a plus.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Undergraduate degree in accounting, CPA preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years corporate federal, state and local income tax experience or equivalent public accounting experience (national level). Proficient in OneSource Income and Provision software. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.
- The candidate must possess good analytical, organizational, and technical skills, with a solid background in federal and multi-state & local income taxes.
- In depth knowledge of tax accounting and tax reporting concepts, practices and procedures with strong research skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, OneSource software, Checkpoint, and a working knowledge of SAP.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
