Who you are:
A skilled product marketer who wants to make an impact. You have experience in understanding customer needs and opportunities and converting that into product positioning that resonates with customers.
Your previous experience in creating customer-centric content enables you to break down complex topics to connect with target audiences. You are comfortable working across channels and leveraging a variety of tools, including marketing automation, as you create, develop and deploy strategic marketing initiatives.
You have a passion for developing metrics to evaluate the success of product launch initiatives.
What you will do:
In short, you will do four things:
- Inform new product development and enhancements,
- Articulate product positioning and narrative,
- Support go-to-marketing launch of new products, and
- Develop metrics to measure effectiveness of product launches and solution experiences.
Here’s a bit more of the detail:
- Inform new product development and enhancements – During capability development, you will support the assessment of market need, and potential for the requested capability to drive value. It is critical for you to develop a deep understanding of specific customer needs and challenges for products and solutions we are working to bring to market and to develop user journeys to highlight the buying experience from the customer’s perspective.
- Articulate product positioning and narrative – By having a clear sense of the customer, and the opportunity, you help create product positioning and narrative that resonates with our buyers based on their needs by tapping into institutional knowledge, collecting third party insights or first party research. You apply your deep buyer knowledge to uncover buyer pain points and focus on finding the key product features, functions and benefits that address them.
- Support go-to-market launch of new products – With a firm understanding of the solution, the buyer needs, the value drivers and offer constructs, you will help develop the foundation for what it takes to achieve market objectives and capture the opportunity. You will collaborate on a marketing, communications and distribution strategy, a launch and scale plan, and direct the creation of required capabilities. You will partner across the company to secure required marketing assets, PR and channel capabilities at GS1 US including direct and partner-based, account-based and digital.
- Assess overall effectiveness – You will partner across the organization to develop metrics to evaluate success for each product launch initiative, measuring and optimizing the buyer journey to remove friction out of the solution experiences such as find, buy, fulfill, use and pay.
