As a Registered Nurse (RN) in a prison, your duties and responsibilities typically include:
- Providing direct healthcare to inmates, including assessment, treatment, and medication administration.
- Responding to medical emergencies within the facility.
- Conducting health screenings and assessments.
- Offering health education and counseling to inmates.
- Managing medication distribution and adherence.
- Maintaining accurate medical records.
- Implementing infection control measures.
- Providing crisis intervention and emotional support to inmates.
- Adhering to security protocols and ensuring safety within the facility.
Qualifications and requirements
- Must hold a RN license in TN (Compact state license is accepted)
- BLS Certification approved by American Heart Association
- Candidates must be FLU vaccinated or should be willing to take a flu shot
- Candidates with previous corrections experience are preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Travel nursing, Contract
Pay: Up to $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week
