What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Microbiologist position at GSK?

GSK is currently looking for an Associate Microbiologist to join our team in Upper Merion, PA. In this role, the Microbiologist performs quality testing for In process and bulk biopharmaceutical ingredients, finished biopharmaceutical products. Reviews and revise SOP’s when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge in cGMP and other regulations in order to assure laboratory compliance.
- Revise SOPs.
- Initiate and resolves quality investigations for excursions relating to routine laboratory testing.
- May supports Change Controls and CAPAs
- Perform routine testing, documents and reports results while following validated procedures for raw materials, in process samples, utilities / environmental monitoring and validation testing under the assigned direction of the supervisor or designee.
- Complete verification for environmental monitoring, In process samples and utilities.
- Assist with the execution of validation protocols and reports.
- Routinely utilize SAP/MERPs, LES, and LES EM for data entry.
- Complete monthly work orders.
- Laboratory upkeep and maintenance (5S, routine equipment/glassware cleaning, autoclave, etc
Schedule is 1st Shift, Tues-Sat.

- Experience with Excel, Word Flexible work schedule
- Role requires weekend and off-shift coverage
