What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Marketing, Hepatology position at GSK?

As the Marketing Director for Hepatology, you will function as the commercial lead for a key late-stage asset, responsible for developing and implementing strategies and tactics for the US LOC. This is a highly visible and strategically important role for GSK as we build a new therapeutic area, so we are looking for a highly experienced marketer who can interact seamlessly with US LOC senior leaders (President of US, Business Unit Head, and VPs) as well as global counterparts.
The incumbent will lead the Integrated Brand Commercialization team (IBCT) and interact with many cross-functional stakeholders in the US LOC, including Medical, Market Access, and Strategy, Insights, Transformation & Operations (SITO), Finance, Sales, US Government Relations, and the brand Promotional Review Team (PRT). They will also serve on the Business Unit marketing leadership team.
The specific accountabilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:
- Partner with the global commercial team, ensuring strategy and launch plans reflect needs of US market.
- Set direction and ensure strategic alignment across functional stakeholder groups.
- Manage product lifecycle pre- and post-launch, including ongoing brand growth management of
- Manage short- and long-range forecasts, and own P&L
- Maintain detailed understanding of disease and competitive marketplace.
- Define customer insights, journeys, and segmentation; product positioning; creative strategy, core messaging and content plans; integrated, cross channel promotional mix.
- Manage partner agency relationships, workflow, and related expense budgets.
- Define metrics and plans for assessing brand performance.
- Foster an environment of innovation, inclusion, challenge, trust, and development.
Why You?
Basic Qualifications:
- BS/BA with 8 years commercial experience including sales or marketing.
- Minimum 4 years' experience in US pharmaceutical/biotech in-line brand marketing.
- Minimum 4 years' experience in strategy development and execution
- Minimum of 2 days per week in office required.
- Ability to travel up to 20%- domestic travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Hepatology preferred; Oncology, Specialty and/or Rare Disease experience a plus.
- Global brand experience
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills, balanced with strong operational experience.
- Launch experience/demonstrated ability to shape the market and utilize innovative go to market approaches.
- Demonstrates an understanding of US Pharmaceutical channel, pricing, and market access strategies.
