The GPS Manager is accountable for the site operations continuous improvement program that is aligned to the GSK Production System to deliver the business strategy and improve business performance across the scorecard (safety, quality, service, cost, and people).
As a key member of the Extended Leadership team (XLT) the GPS Manager is responsible for:
- Leading a team of GPS Practitioners to achieve site capability goals for GPS, measure and track improvement plans.
- Supporting the goal of Zero Accidents, Zero Defects and Zero Waste by using GPS to develop capability of site personnel to implement improvement activities.
- Establishing and executing the GPS plan and management of KPIs in PPM including GPS Maturity
- Add value to patients and the business by driving a zero-waste supply chain and making effiencies, including the use of digital, data and analytics tools in conjunction with Lean practices
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
- Work with Site Director and SLT to identify and agree on the GPS implementation in alignment with the site strategy deployment. Drive the site strategy process aligned to Value Stream/Waste mapping.
- Lead the team of GPS practioners and build capability within the team.
- Lead day to day deployment of the GPS as well as all related improvement activities at site level (business impact on safety, quality, cost, and people).
- Support SLT in the identification of financial and non-financial benefits associated with GPS implementation.
- Ensure a robust GPS system is in place and track progress of the site GPS deployment road-map and self-assess the site GPS maturity level. Report on all required data to central teams as required.
- Teach, train, mentor, coach at all site levels in GPS and Lean methodologies.
- Drive and develop capability of the Site Leadership Team and all leaders on site to lead continuous improvement frameworks and other CI activities.
- Role model GPS skills and lean leadership behaviors and be a subject matter expert in GPS.
- Ensure consistency of progress across the site and network by sharing and adopting lessons learned.
- Be an active member of the Regional GPS network including regular performance reporting and sharing of best practices.
- Benchmarking site performance vs other sites / companies to set appropriate Operational Performance ambition.

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Bachelors Degree in Science or Engineering related field
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
- 5 years manufacturing and/or supply chain experience
- 2 years of experience in managing direct reports, demonstrated leadership in change and transformation with accountability for a continuous improvement program
