The Patient Engagement Liaison (PEL) is a Grade 6 field based, community-facing colleague who serves as an educational resource for local advocacy groups and their patient members. The primary function of the PEL is to liaise with community-based advocacy and patient groups and their constituents on unbranded programs, resources, support and services available from GSK and/or related to the GSK Specialty portfolio.
Colleagues in this role will play an integral part in helping GSK establish leadership within the Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), Severe Eosinophilic Asthma (SEA) and Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (EGPA) patient communities. All of this will be executed in close collaboration with Advocacy Alliance and Development, Medical, legal and compliance colleagues to ensure that these new capabilities and approaches are implemented in a thoughtful manner that meets GSK's high standards of conduct.
The key responsibilities of the position are:
- Help ensure patients receive important information about their disease and be in a position to have meaningful discussions with their healthcare providers
- Coordination and implementation of SLE, SEA and EGPA patient programs at the local level
- Deliver helpful educational information pertaining to the Specialty BU disease states to patients and advocacy groups at various GSK-sponsored events (e.g. Booth Exhibits and PAG patient meetings)
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with local and regional advocacy groups to advance the needs of SLE, SEA and EGPA patients
- Fund and staff and unbranded exhibit booths at a PAG or External Organization events
- Manage the receipt of PAG external funding requests and facilitate the escalation of such requests to Patient Engagement Led to ensure proper review and approval.
- Provide local insights to inform SLE, SEA and EGPA Brand Team development of educational materials for patient engagement and patient support services that address unmet needs within the patient community.
- Ensure all aspects of patient engagement is implemented in a thoughtful manner that meets GSK's high standards of conduct.

Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Nursing or related health care field of study
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in pharmaceutical and/or health care industry
- Patient Care experience
- Experience working externally with health care providers and/or patient advocacy groups
- Must be located within 50 miles of a major airport due to size of geography and amount of travel required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong disease state knowledge of SLE, SEA, and/or EGPA
- Strong understanding of SLE, SEA and EGPA marketplace and external environment
- Strong verbal and written communication/ presentation skills
- Specialty biology experience
- Ability to work effectively across a matrix environment and influence without formal authority
- Passion for addressing unmet needs within the patient community
- In depth understanding of the HQ-approved educational presentations
- Ability to travel extensively in multi-state territory (>50%)
- Overnight and weekend travel will be required for role.
- Varied experience in a range of roles, job functions, and/or business units.
