GTC Job Description - Data Entry Specialist
SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for accurately entering and maintaining accounts payable data, communicating with vendors and subcontractors, tracking subcontractor insurance, and other related accounting data entry tasks. The ideal candidate will be able to meet deadlines, have excellent attention to detail and work well with a small team. The Data Entry Specialist will report to the Accounting Supervisor and will also work closely with the Controller and CFO.
This position will be responsible for accurately entering and maintaining accounts payable data, communicating with vendors and subcontractors, tracking subcontractor insurance, and other related accounting data entry tasks. The ideal candidate will be able to meet deadlines, have excellent attention to detail and work well with a small team. The Data Entry Specialist will report to the Accounting Supervisor and will also work closely with the Controller and CFO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES
- Accounts Payable invoice entry – subcontracts and purchase orders, vendor invoices, etc.
- Assist with gathering conditional lien waivers
- Correspond with vendors on discrepancies and issues
- Review month-end vendor statements
- Assist with gathering subcontractor certificates of insurance while ensuring compliance
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be located in Colorado
- Strong self-motivator, and the ability to work both independently and with a team
- Strong analytical/qualitative and communication skills with detail-orientation
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and accurately
- Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications
- Proficient level knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Willing to learn other areas of accounting
- Two years of related work experience preferred
- Previous construction industry experience preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
- $23-25/hour depending on experience
