POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the maintenance associates, environmental management systems and related documentation and performing some of the same essentials as the maintenance associates when needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Supervise, coordinate, schedule and review the activities of the Maintenance Associates.
- Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment, using electronic, electrical, and
mechanical equipment.
- Authority to plan and direct maintenance activities for all shifts and establish priorities for
projects in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
- Coordinates maintenance activities with production control, tool room, and quality control to
obtain optimum production and utilization of manpower, machine and equipment.
- Reviews and analyzes production, quality, maintenance and operational reports to determine causes of production problems.
- Consults with production personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in
order to improve production and quality of products.
- May initiate purchase order for parts and machines.
- Adhere to all safety regulations.
- Set up and maintain a good Preventative Maintenance Schedule on all equipment.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping habits.
- Maintains conformance with organizational policies, and compliance with environmental
and safety legal requirements.
- Supports new product launch activities and equipment installation as necessary.
- Performs other essential functions as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Training and experience: 4 to 10 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience, or apprenticeship.
MAJOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employee must be able to sit, stand, push, pull, and reach overhead. Employee must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force as needed. Acuity and accommodation of vision are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts. The employee must be able to hear accurately in order to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take the appropriate action.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
In normal plant environment, the employee is subject to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, breathing fumes, dust, and mist, and skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids.
