Requirements:
- Experience: 4 years of in purchasing, buying and/or procurement; CPG and/or packaging/indirect is preferred.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and exposure to ERP/Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related is preferred.
Job Description:
In support of our Buyers, the Associate Buyer plays a critical role in holding suppliers accountable to the accepted purchasing methods, policies, and procedures of the Company. The Associate Buyer is responsible for supporting the procurement function of a commodity from intent to purchase through delivery of commodities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyzing market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability
- Generating market analysis reports
- Assisting in evaluating vendor quotations
- Maintaining supplier relationships that provide high quality products and services at the best price, while maintaining the highest code of quality, ethics and conduct
- Preparing, issuing, and reviewing purchase orders, change notices, order claims, bids, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications and Company guidelines
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of negotiation fundamentals
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think analytically
- Ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize department and company objectives
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and support supplier relationships
