Job Description:
As a member of the Content Planning & Operations Team, the Coordinator, Deal Operations plays a key role in contract setup/deal implementation, data management, and partner onboarding.
They also support processing changes over the contract lifecycle.
They foster good working relationships with internal and external partners, assist in data entry and maintenance of several key databases, and ensure the completeness and accuracy of contract data.
The Deal Operations Coordinator should be an avid consumer of media with an interest in books & entertainment; a self-starter and creative problem solver with impeccable operational, organizational, and analytical skills; a confident and upbeat written and verbal communicator; highly organized and detail oriented; and able to thrive in a high-energy entrepreneurial environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Rights Management & Payment Operations: The Coordinator, Deal Operations works closely with Legal, Business Affairs, Finance, and Metadata Teams as well as external partners to on-board new partners, enter terms in the contract database, update internal trackers, request upfront & milestone payments, and kick off contractually required next steps downstream. They are responsible for ensuring that existing processes are followed and raising opportunities for improvement.
Deal Implementation Strategy & Execution: The Deal Operations Coordinator drives the implementation of new contracts and contract changes at the deal, payment, and title level across relevant systems and teams following established processes and workflows.
Support Contract to Payment Setup Process: The Coordinator, Deal Operations drives the implementation of standard contracts. The Deal Operations Coordinator works closely with Legal, Content Acquisition & Development, Finance, and Content Lifecycle Teams to onboard new partners, enter terms in the contract database and update other internal systems, request upfront payments, and kick off contractually required next steps downstream.
General Support: The Deal Operations Coordinator provides general support for the Deal & Production Operations Team, including data clean-up projects, ad-hoc research, inquiry response, and trouble tickets
Job Requirements
B.A. or equivalent degree preferred
Experience in entertainment, digital media, or publishing field and/or experience with contracts/IP licensing
Functional fluency in Outlook, Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint
Data entry experience demonstrated a high level of accuracy
Demonstrated multi-tasking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced time-sensitive environment
Demonstrated ability to communicate and work with a wide variety of people
Demonstrated focused attention to detail
Highly organized
Required Workplace Competencies:

A confident and upbeat, successful communicator with established written and verbal communication skills
An avid reader and consumer of online media, including books, websites, blogs, and other digital content sources.
Preferred but not Required Qualifications:
Amazon experience and/or experience in the entertainment, digital media, or publishing field
Working knowledge of database concepts & best practices
