Job Description

The Senior Revenue Accountant serves as a teammate in a world-class finance team in a rapid growth environment. The finance team serves as trusted advisors for all our strategic and enterprise endeavors and works closely with business partners on a daily basis. The Role has ownership of all accounting aspects of revenue recognition and must understand, analyze and communicate financial impacts to revenue throughout the organization. This position has a critical and highly visible role in the process design, implementation, documentation and accurate recording of revenue

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with Sales, Project Management team, and Business Development team to track projects progress, document cost change and perform revenue recognition.
  • Work with the FP&A team to provide revenue assurance in the pricing models and new product introductions.
  • Be part of month-end and quarter-end revenue close.
  • Monitor key accounting estimates for revenue recognition.
  • Maintain revenue schedule, deferred revenue schedule and other SEC reporting documentations 
  • Help prepare data and other support information requests as needed for audits and reviews conducted by external auditors.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring quality controls over revenue transactions and reporting.
  • Assist with implementation and testing of new programs, streamline processes, and upgrades, as necessary.
  • Complete special projects as required.

Qualifications

  • 5-6 years in revenue recognition required
  • In-depth knowledge of revenue recognition guidance under ASC606
  • In-depth knowledge and hands on experience working with GAAP multi-element revenue recognition accounting standards, preferably in the software industry

You bring excellent interpersonal skills to the role: communication, empathy and relationship building. In addition, you have strong written capabilities, analytic skills, and good attention to detail.

Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, CPA Preferred.

Technology/Equipment Skills:

Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Advanced Excel Skills, ERP system experience (Preferably Oracle)

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
