Duties and Responsibilities: Cook
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Assist in food preparation for individuals in a variety of settings
- Clean the kitchen and wash dishes, pots and pans
- Work closely with Dietitians and Chefs to ensure residents receive healthy meals based on their specific diet plans
- Serve meals, ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times
- Preparing meals, snacks and beverages following specific procedures
Essential Job Functions: Cook
- Adheres to applicable federal, state, local, and agency guidelines, policies, and regulations
- Assists with portioning food for family style service
- Maintains awareness of special dietary needs
- Helps to maintain standards of safety and sanitation in food preparation and storage areas
- Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene
- Attends meetings and training related to job responsibilities
- Maintains confidentiality and exercises sound judgment concerning the sharing of information
- Performs other duties as assigned by cook or supervisor
