What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packaging Machine Operator position at Guerra Nut Shelling?
Packaging Machine Operator:
Must be able to operate a PAC MAC form/ fill and seal machine that makes 1and 5 pound packages. Set up Machine and ensure it is running properly. Employee dumps product into hoppers. Monitors all finished goods to ensure they are properly loaded into boxes and stacked on pallets. Cleans machine properly after production runs and maintains a clean work area. Employee must make routine adjustments and maintenance to machines. Directs other employee that are assigned to the line to properly perform their assigned duties. Operates forklift daily.
Qualifications:
Basic mathematical skills, some mechanical ability, and able to follow direction. Good manual dexterity, vision and mobility. Must be able to read and write English
G.M.P. And Protective Wear:
Hairnet, hearing protection, smock, safety glasses.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-operational checks.
- Set dies, films, settings, etc., on the machine.
- Monitor machine to make sure it is running properly.
- Follow work order concerning pack and description.
- Ensure quality of product and integrity of packaging.
- Dump product into hopper.
- Clean machine properly after runs including allergen clean-ups.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Observe all plant safety rules, GMP's and attend appropriate training.
- Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, and SQF requirements.
- Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to manager.
- Responsible for partnering with others: Sharing knowledge, skills and information within your team and across functional areas.
- Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.
- Perform all other duties as necessary.
- Make sure all product and packaging material is covered at end of shift.
Hours:
40 per week, 6:30am – 4:30pm, Monday-Friday
Benefits:
401K Pension – After 1 year of continuous employment the employee becomes eligible to participate. Employer currently matches up to 4% of earnings.
Vacation/Holiday Pay – Employee receives vacation pay after 3 years of continuous employment from the date of hire.
Wages:
$18.00 - 22.00/hour Based on experience.
