Job description:
- Responsible for daily data entry for accounting operations for multiple companies including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Inventories, Cost Accounting, Liability and Asset Accounting, Revenue and Expense Recognition and Allocations.
- Assist with preparation of accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Accurately calculate and process multi-state sales tax returns for multi TPT activities.
- Post inter-company billings across multiple companies.
- Responsible for supplying backup for full multi-state Payroll processing, including set-up, ongoing processing, quarterly and annual tax reporting, W-2’s, etc.
- Maintain a knowledge of and provide backup for payroll journal entry to ensure accuracy.
- Knowledge of employment laws, rules and regulations to assist in ensuring company in full compliance.
- Assist in maintaining and reconciling of employee benefit plans and withholding monthly.
- Responsible for tracking contract requirements, renewals, terminations, etc.
- Maintain and track internal and external legal documents, agreements, loans, leases, certificates, etc.
- Responsible for daily data entry and tracking of Accounts Receivable invoicing. Ensure any outstanding invoices are investigated in a timely manner.
- Maintain vendor records including W-9, required insurance certificates, proof of Workers Compensation and/or Sole Proprietor Waivers.
- Reconcile bank, cash, prepaid, credit card, and other accounts.
- Assist in managing all insurance policies, overseeing general liability, Aircraft, property, workers compensation, commercial auto, D&O and other policies.
- Asset and aircraft tracking including locations, insurance, and registrations.
- Track trade names and trademarks for accuracy and renewals
- Assist in managing and comply with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives and current account standards.
Job Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in full-charge bookkeeping, accounting or finance.
- Knowledge and complete proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks.
- Knowledge in DOT and/or FAA compliance preferred.
- Extensive experience in GL, AR and AP required.
- Must have strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance a plus, but not required.
