What You Will Do *:
The Innovation Manager is responsible for leading and facilitating the development of new ideas, products, and services within our client organization. They work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation and develop strategies to implement new ideas. The Innovation Manager is also responsible for managing the innovation process from ideation to implementation, ensuring that all new initiatives align with the organization's goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of innovation strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives
- Identify new opportunities for innovation and assess their potential impact on the organization
- Facilitate brainstorming sessions and other ideation activities to generate new ideas
- Evaluate and prioritize new ideas based on their feasibility, potential impact, and alignment with the organization's goals
- Develop business cases and project plans for new initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new products, services, or processes
- Manage the innovation process from ideation to implementation, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed
- Monitor and evaluate the success of new initiatives, adjusting as necessary
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including vendors, customers, and other stakeholders
- Stay up to date on emerging trends in innovation and technology, identifying opportunities for the organization to innovate and improve
What You Will Need *:
- The ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
- A BS degree with a minimum of 5-7 years' experience. Strong preference for an advanced degree
- Creativity: Must be creative individuals with the ability to generate new ideas and find unconventional solutions to problems.
- Strategic thinking: They must be able to think strategically and identify opportunities for innovation that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Leadership: Must be able to coach a small team, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and communicate effectively with senior management.
- Risk-taking: Must be willing to take calculated risks and be comfortable with uncertainty.
- Analytical skills: Must be able to analyze data, identify trends, and draw insights to inform innovation strategies.
- Project management: Must be skilled in project management, including planning, execution, and evaluation of innovation initiatives.
- Adaptability: Must be able to adapt to changing circumstances and be flexible in their approach to innovation.
- Collaboration: Must be skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams, building partnerships, and managing relationships with external stakeholders.
- Open-mindedness: Must have an open-minded approach to new ideas and be willing to challenge conventional thinking.
- Passion: They must have a passion for innovation and a strong desire to make a difference within the client organization.
What Would Be Nice to Have:
Experience Preferred:
- Experience working with the Department of Defense, specifically the Army
- Familiarity with current DOD and Army Data and Digital Transformation Strategies
- Experience working with agile teams
- Experience executing change management strategies.
- Experience in Management or Technology Consulting
Education/Certifications Preferred:
- Master's degree in business, engineering, or related field
- Certified Innovation Leader Credential (or equivalent Innovation Certification)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
The annual salary range for this position is $78,600.00-$157,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
