Responsibilities
This role will support a government agency within the homeland security enterprise with opportunities to expand your support to other nation security-related organizations. Specific initiatives and work products that this role supports include:
- Facilitation of routine PM ceremonies such as staff meetings, project planning, schedule management, reporting, and monitoring of performance indicators, risks and issues.
- Business process/worflow design, implementation, and improvement.
- Change management and facilitation of strategic planning excercises.
- Communications and stakeholder coordination.
- Executive support for program governance and oversight processes.
- Quality control of key deliverables and reports
- Maintaining frequent engagement with management and executive-level clients throughout all phases of the project, to include working-level meetings and executive-level briefings.
- Collaborating with Guidehouse personnel supporting related workstreams for this client as well as Guidehouse personnel supporting similar efforts across the National Security Segment to identify leading practices, recommend solutions, and improve knowledge-sharing across Government agencies.
- Subject matter experise relating to Immigratoin, Counterterrorism (CT)/ Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) or Civil Rights and Civil Liberties.
- Subject matter expertise relating to Department of Homeland Security business operations.
Qualifications
The following qualifications are REQUIRED to be considered for this role:
- Ability to pass a Public trust background check.
- Bachelors Degree
- 2 years of full-time professional experience in project management, management consulting, business process improvement. Project management experience can include Project Management Office (PMO) and Project Coordinator positions.
- 2 years of experience supporting Federal agencies, including DHS HQ offices to implement business process improvements, lead initiatives, develop strategic communications, and implement change management initiatives.
- Strong critical thinking, written, and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to lead multiple programs and activities.
- Conducting analysis and research to develop and implement policies and strategies
- Experience successfully managing a project or workstream for multiple clients within an organization
The following qualifications are PREFERRED for this role:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma (LSS)
- Subject matter experise relating to Immigratoin, Counterterrorism (CT)/ Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) or Civil Rights and Civil Liberties.
- Experience working in teams to produce high-impact work products, reports, and other deliverables in a fast-paced environment
- Possesses strong oral and written communication skills
- Heightened attention to detail, and the ability to create and edit technical and non-technical written work products and graphical presentations
- Ability to view problems from multiple angles and apply a variety of solutions to solving them
- Ability to participate in client-facing discussions and meetings
- Ability to synthesize information quickly and learn new skills
- Desire to support public sector clients with a national security mission
- Passionate about reinvesting in the company you work for and representing the company’s brand
- Subject matter experise relating to Immigratoin, Counterterrorism (CT)/ Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) or Civil Rights and Civil Liberties.
- Demonstrates the ability to quickly understand client needs, participate within a team environment, and communicate throughout internal and external networks that allow for the successful execution of tasksDemonstrates ability to use software (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI, SharePoint) to create impactful solutions to organizational challenges.
