Schedule: Weekdays with ability to flex hours to cover some evening and weekend hours as needed
Salary: This position starts at $60,000-$62,000 depending on experience and skill set
Purpose:
This position is part of the leadership team for our residential program. Overall, this position will work closely with the Program Manager and Clinical Supervisor with the day-to day operations of our IRTS and Crisis Stabilization Services. It is responsible for supervising overnight, weekend and casual staff; managing the schedule to ensure compliance with staffing ratios; taking part in the hiring and onboarding process for new employees; and partnering with the whole team to carry out quality services to the individuals we are serving, including but not limited to screening referrals, doing admissions, identifying goals and therapeutic interventions, etc.
A. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Major mental illnesses and substance use disorders
- The needs of people with mental illnesses and substance use disorders
- A range of interventions effective for reducing acute and persistent mental health symptoms
- Psychiatric / mental health resources in the community
- How the delivery of residential services supports the agency mission
Skills in:
- Human relations, including genuine compassion for others, an understanding of and respect for boundaries, values and personal differences
- Organization and time management (prioritize tasks and meet deadlines)
- Creative problem-solving, including identifying individualized and unique strategies to address client needs
- Written communication, including completing accurate and timely documentation
- Oral communication, including facilitating team meetings and providing clear feedback to supervisees
- Interviewing: obtain information through listening, questions, observations, etc.
- Building rapport and relationships with others to foster trust and effective communication
Ability to:
- Work with the team or external providers to implement crisis resolution
- Coordinate the work of program staff, including determining current priorities and assigning responsibilities
- Assess an individual’s potential for self-injury or injury of others
- Be flexible and adapt to changing conditions in the work place, including the ability to cover evening or weekend hours at times
- Promote an inclusive, diverse, culturally competent and respectful work environment.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with external / community service providers and family members
- Work independently and recognize when supervision is needed
- Meet deadlines and prioritize daily
- Recognize and identify active symptoms of mental illness and / or chemical health
B. Education and Experiences:
Required:
Must be qualified as a Mental Health Practitioner as follows:
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university and has at least 2,000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to people with mental illness OR
- Has at least 4,000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to persons with mental illness
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a psychosocial rehabilitation setting and/or healthcare setting
Desired / Preferred
- Qualify as a Mental Health Professional:
- A person licensed as a Mental Health Professional (LICSW, LPCC, LMFT)
- OR
- A person licensed as a Mental Health Professional (LICSW, LPCC, LMFT)
- Qualify as a Clinical Trainee
- A person with a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university and
- On a licensure track / pursuing licensure (LICSW, LPCC, LMFT)
C. Other Position Requirements:
- Must be ambulatory and able to negotiate stairways
- The ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds (e.g., grocery bags or client belongings, etc.)
- A valid MN Class ‘D’ Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, satisfactory driving record and necessary insurance
- CPR / First Aid Certification, or ability to attend a course paid by Guild within 90 days of employment
- Must not be actively receiving services from Guild and must not have received services within the last two years

This position works at our Guild South location. It has the potential to come into contact with bodily fluids and/or communicable diseases.
