Position Title: Quality Specialist
Location: Houston, TX
Position Description:
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Specialist serves as an internal consultant to lead, define, administer, and develop QHSE practices designed to drive standardization and ultimately high-quality results. This position requires the ability to audit existing processes against written processes, procedures, work instructions or guidelines; as well as identify improvements to continually improve the quality of our services. Solid judgment and resourcefulness are needed to effectively deal with multiple, highly variable factors and conflicting priorities of various departments and customers. The Quality Specialist interacts with all levels of the company as the Integrated Management System encompasses all areas of our business.
The Quality Specialist will also be responsible for internal process audits, the oversight and implementation of project quality plans, non-conformances, corrective and preventive actions, lessons learned, and maintenance of the Integrated Management System.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with Projects Team to develop, prepare, and implement a proactive QHSE culture which includes programs that ensure the health and safety of each of our team members and job sites.
- Conducts internal process audits.
- Develops and implements Project Quality Management Plans for projects based on corporate processes and procedures, as well as client specific requirements.
- Tracks, measures, and reports progress on projects using standard, established Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- Assists with enhancing QHSE systems focusing on customer satisfaction, business process standardization, reliability, and effectiveness.
- Other administrative tasks as needed.
- Assist in managing QHSE databases to update and monitor trends highlighting action that needs to be taken.
- Champion lessons learned facilitation. Ensure communication throughout the organization to mitigate or eliminate negative impact on future projects or reinforce positive experiences.
- Participate and/or spearhead the QHSE steering committee to promote, engage and communicate a healthy company culture.
Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of operations experience in a Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control capacity.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills
- Diligent with an analytical mind, and problem-solving skills.
- Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships across the organization.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field, preferred.
- ISO 9001 Certified Auditor or Auditor experience preferred.
- Any combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Suite of products including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Able to travel up to 5% domestically and internationally.
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment and field visits.
- Frequent sitting, operating a computer and telephone.
- Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or office materials.
- Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
- Physical demands requirements are at levels of those for sedentary work.
- When on jobsites, frequent standing, and walking. In addition, bodily mobility to bend, crouch or climb for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather/weather conditions.
