Description:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs daily inspections of assigned oil and gas leases
- Gauges and reports daily production of oil and water in storage tanks
- Reads gas meters, calculates, and reports daily produced gas volumes
- Monitors daily plunger runs on all plunger wells
- Inspects plungers, and performs gauge ring tests on a monthly basis on all plunger lift wells
- Reads, records, and reports tubing and casing pressures and choke sizes on assigned wells
- Inspects pipelines, valves, and flanges to detect malfunctions or leaks and makes repairs
- Operates natural gas compressors, refrigeration plants, JT plants, dehydrators, generators
- Performs daily readings and reporting on assigned compressors and chemical pumps
- Reports lease deficiencies and other problems to the supervisor
- Oversees the operation of artificial lift equipment, such as downhole pumps, plunger-lift, and pumping units
- Maintain production rates according to targets
- Minimize downtime and control LOE (Lease Operating Expenses)
- Inspects each location visited and repairs or makes recommendations to management for the repair
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, ranging from 8 – 12 hours a day, but can vary due to workload/needs of the company.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in both a professional office environment and a field environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, iPads, iPhones, laptop computers, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This job also operates in a field environment with equipment, dust, debris, and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to serve as a technical resource to supervisor for coordination of work with external contractor compressor companies
- Ability to use the Internet, and operate iPhones, iPads, and laptop computers
- Ability to make minor repairs to control valves and pilots
- Knowledgeable in trouble shooting mechanical problems on equipment and ensure that the problem is solved
- Ability to act as the initial point of contact for other lease operators on mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to create and manage project lists for each lease as needed
- Proficient in the start-up and operation of each lease and its associated surface equipment
- Knowledge and skills to operate artificial lift equipment, such as downhole pumps, programmable controllers, and pumping units
- Ability to work rotational schedule that may require duties be performed any time of the day or on the weekends, holidays, etc.
- Ability to effectively transfer mechanical knowledge to other employees
- Ability to do simple math calculations (addition, subtraction, division and multiplication)
- Ability to work over overtime and outside of normal operating hours as needed
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with members of small and large teams
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong mechanical aptitude with good working knowledge of all oil and gas surface production equipment and well automation
- Strong background with compressor operations
- Experience with Microsoft Office products

- Ability to climb vessel ladders and work at heights up to 25 feet
- Must be able to walk, stand, and otherwise navigate uneven rural terrain
- This position requires walking or standing for extended periods in all types of terrain and working in environments of extreme temperatures (heat, cold, dust, etc.)
- Must be able to manually open and close valves and other equipment
- Must be able to use pipe wrenches and other applicable oilfield related tools
- Exposure to loud noise, occupational hazards, or outdoor elements
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and walkways as associated with oilfield environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear
- The employee frequently is required to use hands along with fingers, to type, squeeze, handle or feel materials
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, 75-100 lbs. on an occasional basis
