Job Summary:

The Portfolio Optimization Engineer/Analyst is responsible for assembling data from across the organization, developing models and running scenarios to optimize the value of Gulfport’s assets and evaluate pro-forma scenarios. This position develops an operations schedule for the next 2-5 years that delivers the desired corporate objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains an optimized asset model utilizing Cap-ex, LOE, and Production data that accurately reflects the business in the 2-5-year horizon
  • Understand all critical operational (Drilling and Completions) and financial constraints across the organization and how those operations will impact future opportunities
  • Responsible for importing and maintaining critical variables (cap-ex variables, LOE, production estimates etc.) to keep the model current
  • Responsible for updating the model and the targets as the corporate focus changes over time
  • Responsible for synchronizing the operations model and the long-range model
  • Responsible for developing model outputs that can be used by other groups which include reservoir, operations, and finance
  • Collect data from various departments and sources to ensure the data models are accurate and current
  • Conduct meetings as necessary with different stakeholders to solicit appropriate input and provide corresponding model outputs
  • Updating and keeping well-related statistics to provide for reporting purposes to various departments
  • Work with multidisciplinary team to create bottom-up models
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Experience planning Oil and Gas operations
  • Flexibility, proficient communication, and collaboration skills with a customer/client focus are a prerequisite for this position
  • High organizational skills with a focus on attention to detail
  • Must be able to handle a high volume of time sensitive transactions
  • Ability to multitask and be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues as they arise
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Professional appearance and comfortable presenting in front of large and diverse groups
  • Ability to complete assigned projects while providing appropriate updates to stakeholders is required

Education/Experience:

  • Four-year degree in addition to related work experience required
  • Experience with Enersight is required
  • Experience with ARIES, and/or Spotfire preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively work with a multidisciplinary team

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, along with equipment necessary to design, draw, and execute plans.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. Ability to drive for long periods of time, walk and/or stand for long periods of time, perform work in all types of weather conditions.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time exempt position. Days and hours of work will vary due to workload and needs of the company.

Travel:

Some travel is expected for this position.
