Actual work location is in Raceland Louisiana
Operates computer numerical control machines to cut and produce and/or repair precision parts for tools used within the oil and gas industry.
Minimum 2 years Machinist work experience.
Load stock into work holding devices and monitors the machining process to fabricate parts. Performs visual and physical inspection of parts produced as per Gulfstream Services Quality Management System. Cycles machine and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. Runs production lots and communicates with co-workers regarding production runs. Detect and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the operations manager. Performs the following: boring, milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, molding and all bench operations and inspections. Completes and maintains paperwork for parts and other aspects of their daily job tasks. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Ability to read and interpret blue prints and inspection requirements. Experience using micrometers, calipers, and other necessary inspection equipment. Effectively operates and maintains various hand and air tools, mills, lathes and grinders. Participate in JSEA reviews specific to job tasks at hand. Participate in pre-job safety meetings. Assumes personal responsibility for ensuring the duties of their position are performed in a safe, efficient and effective manner. Ability to work overtime as needed and possibly rotating shifts depending on the changing demands of work
A great machinist needs to possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail. Basic computer skills are preferred. Ability to work as part of a team and exercise tolerance and consistency when dealing with others. Given the nature of oil field service work, the ability to communicate effectively with others is necessary. The ability to perform mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and working with fractions is required. Reading comprehension and writing skills are required. Ensure all OSHA regulated safety training is completed as required. Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness and compiles with all health, safety and environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines. Promotes and takes an active part in the quality improvement process.
