The Director of Business Intelligence is a critical role within GumGum and is responsible for leading a medium sized geographically dispersed team of Analysts across the US to deliver on needs for a disparate set of functions across a global organization. This role has a significant people leadership responsibility, required to be a systems and process architect and required to work within a complex matrixed organization of stakeholders.
As a Director of BI, you will work very closely with senior leaders of Marketing, Finance, Sales, Operations, Programmatic and Publisher Development and reports to the Senior Director of Programmatic. The role is internal facing, but will need to strategize how the work that is done impacts clients both on the supply and demand side.

Responsibilities
- Oversee GumGum’s Business Intelligence team, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met
- Drive effective recruitment, onboarding, professional development, performance management and retention of BI team members
- Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement division wide goal setting and performance management.
- Ensure team members are having the best possible GumGum experience by inspiring managers and holding them accountable to deliver meaningful feedback and coaching to their teams, evidenced by regular feedback requests, 1:1’s, quarterly reviews and recognition.
- Ensure processes and systems are well documented, maintained and drive scalable growth.
- Team lead in helping develop and implement new processes and procedures within and across the operations department
- Oversee ongoing improvement of systems in place to increase yield, network growth and platform performance by turning data into insights to drive business decisions
- Learn and teach new database and analytics language capabilities to expand the technical skillset of our team (and company)
- Translate work and analysis into presentations or dashboards that are impactful, actionable and meaningful to various stakeholders
- Meet regularly with Senior Leaders and Executives to make sure needs are being addressed
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Statistics or similar work experience is preferred
- 8-10 years of experience in Business Intelligence or Analytics with a preference for work in Digital Media is required
- Experience as a strong operational leader, using both performance metrics and people leadership to deliver commercial results
- Ability to lead a medium sized geographically dispersed operational team working across multiple timezones
- Ability to operate autonomously and within general direction
- Ability to effectively delegate and professionally grow direct reports
- Extreme attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills
- Experience with Data Visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau
- Proficient with online advertising terms, concepts, and revenue models
- Diplomatically manage various stakeholders across several departments and senior level positions
- Ability to balance competing demands in a high pressure environment to deliver on necessary deadlines
