Job Overview:
The Packaging Lead will lead the 2nd shift packaging line and be responsible for the daily routine of setting up machines, performing daily line clearances and releases, packing out dietary supplement gummy confections into bottles and bags through palletizing. The lead will also be responsible for maintaining cGMP compliance for all staff and processes.
Compensation: $18.00 per hour
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead employees in the daily routine of setting up machines, running quality boxes and packaging them neatly for the next production process or to the customer's specifications.
- Maintain quality, efficiencies and production levels set by management. Communicate these standards to your staff.
- Oversee product quality checks and ensure all proper documentation is maintained as part of the manufacturing records associated with each lot of product.
- Prepare staffing schedules and adjust start times, end times and work days as required by the business need.
- Maintain supply of materials (bottles, caps, labels, bags, boxes, cases, case tape, pallets, ink, other supplies, etc.) necessary to perform jobs.
- Coordinate with Packaging Manager and Maintenance Lead on any repairs or preventative maintenance needed in the department.
- Learn how to operate and maintain each key component of the packaging line and then Cross-train employees in key positions.
- Keep upper management informed of problems or situations that may affect the performance of your department.
- Process completely and properly all paperwork.
- Enforce the corrective action procedures when applicable and review and monitor improvement with responsible staff members.
- Conduct weekly Production/Safety meetings with department personnel.
- Communicate with other leadership and staff effectively between shift changes.
- Learn, implement, maintain and support all company policies and procedures, including safety program, cGMP and good housekeeping.
- Must be able to work on 2nd shift.
- Learn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures. Strictly follows rules and guidelines and always uses the right procedure for the job. Promptly reports incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes. SKNA employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies.

- Additional duties may be assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with 1 years of lead/ supervisor experience,
- Food, Beverage and/or Dietary Supplement cGMP working knowledge.
- Clear, concise, oral and written English communication skills.
Preferred Requirements
- AA, BA, BS in supply chain management, manufacturing management, logistics, engineering or related field
- 5 years of direct experience supervising packaging operations and teams in a dietary supplement or confectionery manufacturing environment.
- 3 years of direct experience in a lead operator position in food or dietary supplement manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Lean, 5S, etc.
- HAACP Certification
- Bilingual: Spanish/ English
