Transportation Driver

Position Summary

The Driver will ensure that the shuttle bus is clean and maintained in good condition in order to transport our Gun Lake Casino Guests and Team Members. The driver will act as a "goodwill" Ambassador and maintain high safety standards at all times. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

In This Role

• Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Gun Lake Casino's "Unsurpassed Service" Standards at all times.
• Drivers will inspect the bus prior to and after each shift, and properly fill out a shuttle bus inspection report.
• Drivers will be familiar with the operation of the vehicle thoroughly before operating it.
• Drivers will ensure that the shuttle bus is clean and that the interior is safe and ready for use prior to starting the shift.
• Drivers will obey all driving regulations and will adhere to all laws regulating the speed of vehicles when traveling.
• Drivers will maintain jurisdiction over anyone who may interfere with the Driver's ability to operate the vehicle safely.
• Drivers will consider all road hazards and will operate the vehicle with full coherency and alertness at all times.
• Drivers will never drink any alcoholic beverages during any period of time which may affect the Driver's ability to operate the bus, nor will a Bus Driver be under the influence of any substance that may affect the Driver's ability to drive safely.
• Drivers will be knowledgeable with regard to directions and Gun Lake Casino's promotions and specials and will offer information and assistance to our guests.
• Drivers will act in a courteous manner toward both our internal and external guests at all times.
• Drivers will be punctual in following the schedule as specified to ensure guests are not left waiting.
• Drivers will not leave their bus unattended with the engine running or while passengers are aboard.
• This position is not limited to the duties listed in this job description. Duties and responsibilities can be changed, expanded, reduced, or deleted by management to meet business needs of Gun Lake Casino.
  
  

Essential Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.
• Must possess a valid, current operating Class 'C' Driver's License with a 'P' (passenger) endorsement and a CDL designation (Commercial Drivers' License) for the State of Michigan and a clean driving record.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
• Must have the manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, run, and climb stairs for the duration of shift.
• Must have the ability to access all properties and areas.
• Ability to read, write and input data into the computer.
• Ability to stoop, crouch and kneel.
  
  

Work Conditions

Work is typically in an office environment or out on the casino floor. Work areas may be warm, cold, or noisy. Tasks may be required to perform from a sitting or non-sitting position in a confined area. Team Members may be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp.
