40We are looking to add a detail oriented, experienced Accountant I or Accountant II to our team! This position will provide support at our Tri County location in Whitehall, WI.
An ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and experience with hands on accounting/ financial experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday Core Business Hours
Location: This is a mostly remote position with expectations to be on-site a few times per month in Whitehall, WI. Remote employees must reside in WI or MN only.
Job Description:To be a key member of the Accounting Department; working with the Accounting Manager to maintain high quality accounting and financial reporting systems for multiple corporate entities, to include designing, maintaining, and analyzing various transaction-based subsidiary ledgers, reviewing and analyzing complex reports, investigating problem situations, preparing correcting adjustments as required, and making recommendations for process and system improvements as warranted. This position is also responsible for representing the Accounting department in various meetings and playing a large role in the financial education of Gundersen Health System managers and staff.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Produce multiple financial reports and perform review and analyses to ascertain accuracy, and distribute to appropriate user(s).
2. Identify and process required monthly general ledger entries for multiple corporations.
3. Perform a wide range ofcomplex financial analysis functions as assigned by Accounting Manager.
4. Design, prepare, and maintain various spreadsheets to support general ledger entries and other reporting and analysis needs.
5. Evaluate and analyze data on various reports to ensure accuracy as part of the departments check and balances.
6. Prepare work papers as required for various regulatory and financial audits.
7. Perform complex general ledger account analysis to ascertain accuracy of balances.
8. Demonstrate strong skills in the areas of communication, analytical reasoning and professional judgment, in both team and independent work environments.
9. Respond to all levels of management as needed for inquiries and information requests in a timely, accurate and professional manner as they relate to financial statements, budgets, projections and other Accounting related areas.
10. Compile and analyze data for use in the budget and projection processes, and tax and regulatory reporting area.
11. Develop and present financial-related information in small and large forums.
12. Work with senior leadership and others on project teams, and may act as a project lead.
13. Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned by Accounting Manager.
Education and Learning:
REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
DESIRED
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
and successful completion of requirements to sit for the Certified Public Accountant Examination.
Work Experience:
REQUIRED
3-4 years accounting experience.
DESIRED
5-7 years accounting experience that includes 2 years analytical experience.
License and Certifications:
