Job Description:

The Purchasing Assistant assists the Purchasing Manager, Sr. Buyers and Category Managers to perform a variety of purchasing functions including processing and expediting orders in a timely manner. The Purchasing Assistant maintains the Materials Management System in relation to Purchasing.

Major Responsibilities:

• Responsible for processing/expediting orders, and/or purchasing orders for materials and services within area of responsibility.
• Responsible for coordinating the return of material goods to suppliers as needed.
• Maintains the Materials Management System based on standards determined by management.
• Supports the Sr Buyers to communicate out of stock concerns, buyer message issues, assists with product substitution procurement, and other tasks as determined appropriate.
• Assists in maintaining SOPS for the Purchasing Assistant work within the Purchasing Department to reflect current process and procedure.
• Adheres to regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.

High School Diploma or equivalency

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or two-year or higher education in related field

Work Experience:

2 years or more experience in supply chain or related field
