Associate Data Scientist

The Opportunity

GutCheck has a portfolio of cutting-edge research products and we are taking it to the next level. We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Research Science and Innovation team. In this role you will play an important part in GutCheck's innovation and product development processes by applying your skills in statistics, storytelling with data and data visualizations to create new market research products and help drive innovation. This position can be remote based.

The Role

Produce Innovative Research Science

• Develop AI/NLP, machine learning and statistical models to identify and invent innovative metrics, use cases, or data products to fuel GutCheck's growth and value
• Support GutCheck innovation by designing and conducting measurement experiments and/or evaluating vendor methodologies - and deliver the results on time.
• Scan the environment for new ideas and tools and bring them forward

Embed Data & Analytic Tools

• Support cross-functional efforts to develop databases and data feeds consistent with our product and data strategy.
• Support the cross-functional building out of data modeling and predictive analytic techniques and tools that help us extract additional value from GutCheck or client data.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to automate statistical algorithms and techniques and ensure appropriate quality and error flagging reports

Must Haves

• Typically, 1-3 years applying data science skills in the social or decision sciences
• Basic understanding in data wrangling and mining, predictive modeling, natural language processing, and/or machine learning
• Exposure to statistical understanding
• Introductory ability to use R, including automating methods or processes

Bonus Points

• Strong visual and written storytelling skills and experience using them to convey insights to clients in a compelling way
• Experience with agile or lean development processes
• Experience in market research, consumer insights or adjacent areas

Base Compensation

Base Compensation Range: $80,000 - $100,000 and discretionary bonus
