Extraction Technician

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in receiving hemp and ethanol deliveries, including sorting and marking different types.
• Monitor filter inventories and notify lead when levels are low.
• Ensure proper and safe storage of materials in an organized manner.
• Collect, control, and store spent biomass away from buildings.
• Maintain integrity of distillate reclaim in barrels for future processing.
• Follow proper hygiene and GMP practices.
• Log bag weights, counts, and portioned hemp weights; store bags in totes.
• Safely portion ethanol from totes to barrels.
• Meet extraction production rates and follow SOPs for extraction and filtration.
• Log beginning ethanol temperature and proof, as well as extracted hemp poundage and recovered ethanol gallons.
• Manage filtered solution to control temperature and ensure FIFO processing.
• Follow SOP for steam evaporation of filtered hemp solution.
• Ensure recovered ethanol meets quality standards and is stored safely.
• Follow SOP for cook down of crude, ensuring quality control and safety.
• Record cook-downed crude weight and transfer to the downstream process with the custody log sheet.
• Maintain general functionality and cleanliness of primary equipment: Pinnacle extractor, filtration skid, steam evaporator, and centrifuge.
• Perform minor equipment maintenance as needed.
• Complete housekeeping checklists and inform Lead of equipment deficiencies and failures.
• Maintain order and cleanliness of outdoor areas, including freezers, bagging shed, grinding area, hemp storage, biomass collection, and back patio.

• Proficiency in following detailed instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Punctuality, good attendance, and a positive attitude.
• Basic data entry and computer skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Mechanical aptitude is desirable.
• Ability to obtain a forklift operator certification issued by the company.
• Physical ability to move and lift objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
