Position Summary
Responsible for providing support for purchasing activities for the organization, including but not limited to general buying, contracting, negotiating, and vendor interaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
Receive purchase requisitions from departments
Purchase order tracking and processing
Issue requisitions through general ledger system
Establish user accounts
Complete credit applications
Assist with accounts payable functions
Work with vendors to secure bids, and negotiate pricing for specific items as requested
Monitor and track service contract status
Work with receiving staff to support policies and procedures related to such
Work with accounts payable staff to ensure timely payment of purchases
Perform special analysis and reports related to purchasing
Maintain files in a neat and organized manner, in accordance with record standards
Interact with supervisors and Senior Management Team to resolve issues
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
- Education in accounting or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
Experience
- 2 years of experience in the field or a similar combination of education and experience in a related area
Skills
- Familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Professionalism is required for establishing and maintaining vendor relationships
