Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of the manufacturing lines and complete reports and other documents related to production and the staff
- Ensure safe operation of the plants while maintaining consistent superior quality of the finished product
- Enforce and ensure that staff follows company rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and abilities of the plant team members
- Set production goals and meet target numbers
- Communicate and work closely with other departments
- Enforce work standards and assist with disciplinary processes
- Involved in budgeting, scheduling, troubleshooting and solve daily issues to ensure production goals are met
- Lead in coaching, team building, and development of team members
- Assist in the hiring process of new team members
- Develop and track metrics to continuously monitor production process, set specific goals, and plan the use of materials and resources to meet goals
- Drive continuous improvement efforts utilizing initiatives to reduce costs and support the attainment of established goals
- Play a key role in the implementation of new processes, equipment, and products
- Lead the advancement and implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives at the facility
- Provide team members with necessary information and tools to be successful
- Other duties as assigned by senior management
Qualifications
Required Skills, Education, and Experience
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing or managing of operations teams
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, strong problem-solving ability, and strong communication skills
- Experience in reporting on key production metrics
- Proven experience in improving operational processes and efficiencies, cost management, and production optimization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with knowledge of manufacturing software being a plus
- Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
- Knowledge of performance evaluations and budgeting concepts
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience
- Block machine maintenance experience
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Conveyor repair and operations experience
- Metal fabrication
- Experience with pneumatic, hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical equipment
- OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications
Physical Demands
- Occasionally required to:
- Stand, walk, sit
- Use hands to finger and feel
- Talk or hear
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Drive up to 2 hours
Work Environment
- Occasionally required to work outdoors in all environments at times
- Hours regularly exceed 40/week and 8/day
- Noise level is loud at times
