The H&K Group, Inc. is looking for the ideal Staff Accountant! The Staff Accountant is a hands-on full-time position in the office, no remote work, reporting directly to the Financial Accounting Supervisor and CFO. Primary responsibilities include analyzing and verifying complex financial information, preparing financial reporting, reconciling general ledger accounts/financial records and performing month-end close activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Preparation/Review of monthly and annual financial statements including a monthly analysis package of KPI's and other reports to inform team leaders and others about financial results.
- Preparation of financial reporting for functional areas and other business units.
- Ensure transactions having a financial impact are performed/recorded in a timely and accurate manner. Research, analyze, reconcile financial records, prepare journal entries, and recommend changes, if needed.
- Prepare special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Special Projects as assigned supporting various areas of the company (not limited to): develop paperwork for regulatory reporting, procure to pay general ledger process evaluation/improvement, documenting forecast vs actual savings/costs analysis, etc.
Knowledge/Experience/Education of Staff Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of overall accounting

Qualifications
- An analytical thinker with a proficiency in business analytics; an ability to perform both high level and detailed analysis, and ability to think proactively.
- Strong deductive problem-solving skills, H&K Group is a multi-entity business with goals to expand, with expansion comes the need to develop new accounting processes to effectively manage the growth.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented with a strong comprehension of account relationships and reconciliations.
- Experience working with an ERP accounting system with an ability to follow the impact of a transaction as it flows through the financials.
- Advanced knowledge in the use of MS Office Suite and/or comparable analytical and reporting tools
- Knowledge of and experience with US GAAP and financial reporting.
- Conscientious about time sensitive nature of assignments and quality of work product.
- Accountable for specific performance.
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner.
- Multi tasks oriented while maintaining control and order.
- Exceptionally strong work ethic.
