Positions available in Avon, Indianapolis, Carmel, Noblesville and Franklin Indiana

HOURS: Up to 40hrs a week (overtime possibilities)

As an aquatic team member at H&L Pool Management you will be vital to ensuring the safety of our guests by upholding safety standards and rule enforcement at our facilities. These positions are part-time, seasonal and reports to the General Manager.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ** READ CAREFULLY**

• Must be able to complete required swim test.
• Applicants will be hired on as a Trainee (unpaid)–and must be able to complete and pass the requirements of a 5-day Lifeguard Certification Class (April / May), On-Job Training and Recognition Test.
• Once all new hire training is completed, new applicants will make the starting lifeguard rate of $13.00/hr. Returning Lifeguards, Headguards, Managers and Supervisors rates will be based upon experience.

Major Duties

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

• Supervises and provides surveillance of the swimmers at all times.
• Responds to EAP (Emergency Action Plans) protocols by performing rescues, administering first-aid and CPR/O2/AED as needed.
• Enforces pool rules and regulations; explains to pool user’s unsafe practices, to minimize injury and accidents in the pool.
• Assists in locating missing children.
• Performs daily facility tasks to maintain a neat and orderly appearance
• Must maintain certifications for duration of employment and uphold the standards and expectations. Attend and participate in weekly in-services.
• Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Lifeguards must be at least 16 years of age (15yrs if they live in the neighborhood), 17 yrs. of age Headguard, Manager & Supervisor.

Must demonstrate the following to pass the required Swim Test:

• Swim 100yds with no rest using the front crawl or breaststroke technique.
• Tread for 2 mins.
• Retrieve a 10lb brick from the deepest area of the pool (Max 10ft)

Must complete a 5-Day Certification in First Aid, CPR, and Ellis Lifeguard Training and meet objectives by the end of the 5th day.

Must be flexible regarding scheduling as it is based on operational demands (including weekend and holiday availability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in writing, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
