What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Data Science position at H&R Block?
H&R Block is seeking a Manager of Data Acquisition and Management to join the Data Science and Analytics (DS&A) practice at H&R Block. This remote or local position will ensure that high quality data is available for embedded AI and Data Science models for real business results.
In this role, you will:
- Build processes to acquire and test new data sources and technologies for Data Science purposes, including cloud technologies
- Stand up a functional DS&A Shared Service to drive Data Scientist access to high-speed, quality data
- Create a clear, prioritized data backlog for Data Architecture/Data Engineering within IT that matches business priority and optimizes for speed to solution
- Provide a single point of contact with IT for all Data Architecture needs and help map out Data Engineering vision for the future
- Oversee a Data Acquisition practice (including Data Analysts) within DS&A to acquire data to address business partner questions, reporting/visualization and feed Data Science and Gen AI Models
- Experiment and test new data sets with Data Science to uncover new insights that drive our business
- As a technical expert, report to the Director of Machine Learning & Platforms strategize and activate on a bold vision for Data Science and Gen AI at H&R Block.
