What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at H&T NEVADA, LLC?
This position is responsible for the accurate and timely coding and entry of accounting data, maintenance of general ledgers and invoice generation The accountant assists in formulating and tracking performance to budgets and forecasts, as well as completion of Federal, State and Municipal census and tax reports and provides overall support in the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Daily:
- Performs daily accounts receivable invoicing and miscellaneous billing as needed.
- Research and resolves any AR issues that may arise.
- Update statement of AR payments.
- Accountable for reviewing and posting mass journal entries.
- Responsible for the reconciliation of daily cash reports.
- Works with members of the Accounting Department and other departments to provide information requested by upper management.
Monthly:
- Maintain monthly exchange rates and current period.
- Responsible for lease accounting implementation and monthly entries.
- Posts the capital and depreciation entries and other miscellaneous reconciling month-end entries.
- Assists in compiling and filing monthly the Nevada Sales & Use Tax return. Assists with the filing the Commerce Tax and Modified Business Tax.
- Responsible for the tracking and analysis of various balance sheet accounts as assigned.
- Assist with month end reconciliation and close entries.
- Maintain monthly journal entry files with appropriate signature approvals.
Periodic:
- Researches and provides requested financial information to the U. S. Census Bureau by completing numerous surveys that are received throughout the year.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Assist with internal reporting as needed.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and one to three years of relevant work experience.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, with minimal supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to use and comprehend various software technologies with an aptitude to learn new skills
- High degree of confidentiality.
- Proficient with MS Office suite.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work while sitting or standing in a stationary position at least 90% of the time; ability to walk for long distance
- Ability to operate a computer, copier, and printer.
- Ability to occasionally move up to 20 lbs. across office for various needs.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas so others in a comprehensive and clear manner. Must be able to exchange accurate information.
- Ability to read and comprehend printed documents.
