Requirements:

• Perform field inspection and oversight of construction activities.
• Maintain inspection reports with records of project progress.
• Perform and/or Coordinate material field testing services.
• Pay item quantity measurements and documentation

Qualifications:

• 5  years of progressive experience in construction inspection for transportation projects; NCDOT project experience preferred.
• This role will support our North Carolina CEI operations.
• Must be able to interpret plans, standards and specifications.
• Good understanding of construction specifications and plans.
• Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• NCDOT applicable certifications are required for the following.
  • Concrete Field Technician (including. NCDOT specifications and ACI)
  • Asphalt QMS Roadway Technician
  • NCDOT Soils Technician

• Other Applicable Certifications
  • OSHA 10 Hr. Safety Training Construction
  • Work Zone Traffic Control
• Knowledge of NCDOT specification and standards is required.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively with a team.

Physical Requirements:  

The physical requirements must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stoop, crawl, and lifting.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 20 pounds.  Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
