Responsibilities:

• Supervises subordinate inspectors responsible for monitoring work quality and performance
• Reviews project activities with contractor's field supervision to resolve disputes and other project issues
• Read and Interpret contract plans and specifications
• Read and interpret construction contract language
• Possess current material testing certifications as applicable for earthwork, asphalt, concrete, pile driving, drilled shafts, etc.
• Material testing and documentation for verification and/or acceptance
• Inspection of and documentation of contractor’s quality of work
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent with Four (4) years of experience in construction inspection, two (2) years of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection on DOT projects or a Civil Engineering degree and one (1) year of road & bridge CEI experience with the ability to earn additional required qualifications within one year.
• Working knowledge and understanding of FDOT specification and standards.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Ability to work independently or to effectively lead a team of inspectors.
• Willingness to work weekends, nights, and swing shifts as required on assigned projects
• Other duties as assigned.

• CTQP Asphalt Roadway Levels I & II 
• CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I & II 
• CTQP Final Estimates Level I 
• CTQP Pile Driving Inspection (when applicable)
• CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (when Applicable)
• CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges) (When applicable) 

Certifications:

• FDOT Intermediate MOT
• Nuclear Radiation Safety
• IMSA Traffic Signal Inspection Level I

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stoop, crawl, and lifting.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 20 pounds.  Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
