Trauma Physician Assistant

Hackensack Meridian Health’s Jersey Shore University Medical Center is the trauma center for adults and children in the region, providing expertise and specialty capabilities unavailable at any other hospital in Monmouth or Ocean County.

Opportunity Information

• Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, Level 1 Adult, 24/7/365 with board certified trauma surgeons, 24 hr CT scans and OR, SICU, and PICU
• Days/nights/weekends/holidays with rotating shifts, Full-time, and Per Diem

Responsibilities

• Under the direction and supervision of the Attending Trauma Physician the critical care APP manages a variety of patients in the critical care setting. He/She serves as an advisor, resource, preceptor and leader for other members of the patient care team. The critical care APP provides direct and indirect patient care optimizing patient safety to a patient population consisting of, but not limited to, clients from GI/GU, thoracic, vascular, neurosurgery, GYN oncology, trauma, OB-GYN, and orthopedic subspecialties.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved physician assistant program, accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education Current NYS registration as a Physician Assistant
• Master's degree
• New Jersey Physician Assistant License or NJ Advanced Practice License
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Licenses and Certifications Preferred or within one year of initial employment by HMH
