Position Summary:
The Graphic Designer utilizes current graphic design technology and computer software to create and develop layouts and graphic designs in a Macintosh environment for the Marketing/Advertising Department and Support Center following established guidelines. Prepares finished graphic files for printer. Work is performed under immediate supervision.
Responsibilities:
1. Produces various graphic designs for signage, price/item materials, labels, internally used materials, and other jobs using computer graphics software under strict deadlines.
2. Follows established Haggen branding and best practice guidelines.
3. Duties may include graphics or image asset management and processing of files.
4. Performs related tasks for projects as assigned by supervisor.
5. Cultivates a team-oriented work environment by sharing work knowledge and offers their assistance to co-workers as needed.
6. Maintains confidentiality of department/company data, initiatives, and other sensitive information.
7. Adheres to all company policies and procedures creating a professional and enjoyable work environment.
Qualifications:
· 1-3 years of previous work experience in a related field.
· Degree in art, graphic design, advertising, or related field preferred.
· High level of proficiency in computer graphics software programs in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat). Knowledge of pre-press production preferred.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Power Point familiarity is a plus.
· Good verbal and written communication skills, both with co-workers and outside company business partners.
· Must be organized, detail-oriented, possess excellent planning and follow-up skills.
· Accountability and reliability in quality of work and adherence to deadlines.
· Possesses good grasp of English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
· Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment with a high level of accuracy.
· Highly motivated, ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
· Dedication to providing excellent service to the company. Committed to support the company’s goals and objectives.
· Must be 18 years of age due to equipment and work environment.
Work Environment:
The workspace will be primarily in an office environment in an assigned cubicle. The general office schedule is Monday-Friday with work hours between 8am-5pm.
