Sr. Project Engineer

The Sr. Project Engineer role is responsible forthe management of large capital projects and complex project teams to deliver on the execution of capital & other critical projects against compliance, scope, timing and performance deliverables.

• Management of external resources in the execution of complex capital projects for facilities, sustainability, utilities, equipment and processes.
• Design, install, and troubleshoot manufacturing and packaging processes and equipment to meet business needs in terms of OEE improvements and/or Batch Cycle Reduction.
• Capital budget development, management and accountability for specific project spend of $5 MM or above annually. Provide technical guidance and evaluation for new concept technologies.
• Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products and processes or reduce costs using knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling and production equipment, packaging methods, quality control standards or product design, materials and parts; provide technical risk assessments and justification documents.
• Review product and equipment designs for manufacturability and completeness.
• Responsible for and coach all technical team members to follow internal processes and procedures and use the defined project tools to deliver projects.
• Responsible for project schedule management, cost tracking and project status update reporting to upper management.
• Lead Kaizen events and projects as required and actively participate in the Gemba walks.
• Manage vendors and consultants to ensure that contracts contain appropriate technical specifications are delivered as required.
• Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost effectiveness.  Participate in site-wide priorities and lean initiatives.
• Stay current on developments in the field of Project Management Standards.
• Interface with users, peers, and management to ensure appropriate input and integration of local and corporate standards.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

• Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Construction Management

• 5 years in an engineering role

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

• Project Management

• Capital Management

• Experience managing $2 million plus projects

• Experience managing packaging equipment

• Experience with Sustainability Projects

• Author, review, revise, or approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Compliance records as required.

• Perform cost estimates for complete project scopes and develop Project Investment Plans (PIPs).

• Issue and management vendor Purchase Orders

• Close and capitalize completed capital projects in timely manner.

The salary range for this role is $93,455 - $140,183.
