>> Paving Laborer Paving Laborer Summary Title:Paving LaborerID:5281Department:PavingSalary Range:$18.00-$21.00Job Location:Louisville, KY Description **HALL CONTRACTING OF KENTUCKY, INC.** **PAVING LABORER** **Summary/Objective** The Paving Laborer position is responsible for performing various duties on construction and/or paving projects. The employee will generally work in utility capacity by transferring from one task to another where demands are required **Essential Functions** Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
  • Assist construction/paving crew with various duties such as; shoveling and raking, running wheelbarrow, safely backing/dumping trucks into paver.
  • Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and materials with shovel.
  • Follow direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.
  • May be called upon to run small power tools such as jack hammer.
  • Digs, spreads, and levels construction materials.
  • Lifts, carries and holds material, tools and supplies.
  • Assists in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.
  • Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.
  • Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the foreman.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with the companys drug and alcohol testing requirements

  • Possess a positive can do attitude **Work Environment** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions **Physical Demands** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to use proper personal protection equipment. Use of sunscreen and long sleeves is recommended. **Required Education and Experience** No experience required however previous asphalt/paving experience prefered. Must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must hold a Regular Operator (Class D) driving license. Applicant must have no felonies that are violent in nature and/or theft related in the last 7 years. Applicant must have reliable transportation to and from job site. High School Diploma or GED preferred **Job Details**

  • Working days vary between weekdays and weekends
  • 40 hours per week or more
  • Travel may be requirement to remain employed
