Position Overview

Full-time

Located in: Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Pay rate: 130,000 annually

Schedule: 2:30PM-11:00PM (Monday - Friday, Weekends as needed)

Position Summary

The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the proper dispensing, review, and verification of prescribed medications within regulatory guidelines and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Staff Pharmacist also provides pharmacy counseling services to patients regarding the effective usage of medications and awareness with drug interactions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately performs final verification of a large volume of prescription orders
• Leads a team of technicians to ensure metrics are met and all products are delivered to patients in an accurate and timely manner
• Consults with prescribing practitioners to help ensure accurate and appropriate medication use
• Reviews medication orders and evaluates their appropriateness and completeness
• Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the State Board ofPharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Food and Drug Administration
• Performs all job duties with a friendly, positive, and team-oriented approach
• Maintains required licenses and certifications, must be in good standing with all regulatory agencies
• Complies with all company policies, procedures, rules and standards Knowledge and Skills
• Ability to cope with varied levels of workload and multiple tasks
• Must be able to work in a fast paced and changing environment
• Accurate data entry skills
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Able to work standing and walking for duration of shift (8-10 hours)

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
• 4 years related experience
• Licensed and in good standing with the FL State Board of Pharmacy
• Bilingual preferred (Spanish & English)
