Construction Estimator

Position Summary:

Hallmark Casework is a Texas-based specialty supplier of laboratory and scientific products. We are seeking a talented estimator to join our dynamic team at our Houston office. In this role, you will be responsible for performing take-offs from construction documents and compiling data into an estimating template to provide cost estimates for design, material, freight, and labor.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee management, organization, and clarity of estimating documents.
• Interpret construction documents.
• Perform detailed take-offs.
• Manage requests-for-proposals to suppliers.
• Collaborate closely with business development team to understand design requirements and specifications.
• Coordinate with other team members to maintain project timelines and meet deadlines.
• Aid in formulating bid strategies by communicating project components with sales members.
• Prepare accurate and detailed construction cost estimates for design, material, freight, and labor.
• Input data into estimating templates.
• Keep up to date with industry trends and advancements in estimating and pre-construction methodologies.

Qualifications:

• A degree or certification in business administration, construction management (or related fields-of-study), or equivalent, demonstrable, work experience.
• Experience in preconstruction.
• Experience in competitive bidding.
• Experience with interior specialties (divisions 6, 10, 11, or 12 preferred).
• Proficiency with Bluebeam
• Proficiency with Microsoft products, notably Excel.
• Familiarity with AEC applications such as Building Connected, Dodge, ISqFt, Procore, and Autodesk Construction Cloud
• Ability to navigate and comprehend architectural drawings, blueprints, and related construction documents.
• Ability to interpret architectural sketches and specifications.
• Strong understanding of design principles and construction methods.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing take-offs.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities to meet project deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
